Emma Kohlmann is an American artist living and working in Florence, MA. She received her B.A. from Hampshire College, Amherst, MA. Her chosen mediums include watercolor and ink, however her practice extends to digital art, zines, drawing and painting. The artist creates a contemporary, joyful, feminine world which places figures and faces within imaginary spaces populated with plants, birds and other apparently natural forms. Her fluid figures retrace the subconsciousness through a lexicon drawn from erotic art, ancient and folk figurines and mythology.
Emma Kohlmann is currently represented by Jack Hanley Gallery, New York, USA and V1 Gallery, Copenhagen.
